Proctoring
The BCCC library provides monitored testing spaces for exam-taking.
Faculty:
1) Submit a completed FACULTY TEST PROCTORING REQUEST form for each library-administered test and submit early as possible.
- Must include current class rosters (with Proctoring Request).
- We follow your instructions EXACTLY.
2) Set a testing window and remind students not to wait until the last day; the staff reserves the right to deny testing on days we can't adequately monitor the proctor room and testing floor.
3) Inform your students of the proctoring guidelines and procedures prior to sending them to the library.
Students:
- Students must present a current, valid, photo ID.
- Students must make arrangements with instructors before submitting a PROCTORED TEST AGREEMENT.
- Students must read and sign this an academic honesty policy.
- Students are required to surrender all personal items/requested items at the desk during testing. Phones must be turned off; no Bluetooth devices are allowed on person. No large jackets, blankets or other view obstructing garments are allowed during testing.
- Students must adhere to the rules set forth by the instructor regarding notes, calculators, etc.
- Students are recorded during testing. Any failure of recording equipment during the testing session will result in mis-administration, the instructor will be contacted and the student will be required to retake the exam. Suspicious logs will be kept on file for viewing by instructor/administrative staff.
- Students must begin testing at least 2 hours prior to closing time (all testing stops 1 hour before the library's posted closing time).
- There is a $20 (twenty dollar) per student per semester service fee for all-non- BCCC students. (Must be currently enrolled - not applicable during COVID-19 pandemic).
- Distance learning students from colleges outside of North Carolina are responsible for arranging for their proctored tests.
